Mobile Detailing and Radio Stations Public Service Announcements

Lakeland Auto Transport

Radio is sometimes free and as a mobile detailer you can use this to help you in your business promotions. If you work with a non-profit group in a fundraiser or event you can often get your companies name mentioned along with the non-profit group and event. Radio is good advertising, but when it is used to promote a cause you win twice when you are involved. You have the pleasure with working in the community on a project for the common good and then you receive additional business too. Public Service Announcements or PSA’s are not the only way radio stations can help your mobile detailing business. They can also help by Radio Station Give Aways.

The law requires radio stations to play "Public Service Announcements" over the air. Usually they are things like:

"The Lions Club of Hollywood is having a BBQ and square dance to support the 'Save A Tree Program' on Saturday, June 1st from 12:30-2:00pm at the Hollywood Bowl and everyone is invited".

It's your basic who, what, when, where, why and how much plug. Well, how about:

"Wells Fargo Bank is having a grand opening of their new office at 2100 Main Street in Walnut Creek. Free refreshments and hot dogs sold by the Boy Scouts. Bring your car because the World's Best Auto Detailer will be there, Joe’s Mobile Detail and Car Wash, will be washing cars for only $5. All proceeds will go to the local Battered Women's Club of Contra Costa County. All day event. Bring the kids and they can ride the clean Wells Fargo stage coach. If you have any questions, please call 1-800-JOE-TRUE."

This ad will play three times a day for a week absolutely free. Everyone who comes that day, Wells Fargo employees, Boy Scout parents and the adjacent shopping center merchants are your new customers. Radio stations give away's are awesome:

"The fifth caller will receive free car washes at their office for all the employees, compliments of Joe’s Mobile Detail and Car Wash at 1-800-JOE-TRUE. Find out what true service is all about."

Do this for five days and see how many new customers you get. It's unbelievable. As a matter of fact, it's so unbelievable that we usually don't do it anymore because we get too much business. If you wash the radio station's vans, president's car and employee's cars, they will run one-two free spots per day of 30 seconds.

"Hey, you know Joe and his detailers and car washers did a great job on my car for only $5. They'll come to your home or office for only $5. $10 for a deluxe wash and vacuum. If you don't believe me, call them yourself 1-800-JOE-TRUE. Boy do those guys have great tans. I wish I got to work outside."

D.J. spots are more identifiable to the listener, a free testimonial. Let's say there are seven employees, two sales people, one president and two station vans. On any given day there will be eight people working and one station van. Nine Cars Present X $5.00 Price Per Car = $45.00 Revenue From Car Washes.

You get seven radio spots worth $20 each or $140.00. Piece of cake. I have done this in our company many times. What great Public Relations. It’s very cheap and very reaching. Sometimes with a little help, a little trading and a little community involvement, radio advertising is not out of reach.
